Somos La Terra Cognita, un floreciente centro de artes basado en la artesanía de la Galicia rural, situados en un pequeno pueblo cerca de Cortegada, Ourense.
Queremos ampliar y recuperar el conocimiento de las habilidades artesanas tradicionales de la zona que están desapareciendo, especialmente en el proceso de la elaboracion de la lana y la ceramica, poniendo en valor todo el material de proximidad que nos ofrece esta tierra.
Para ello, entre otras actividades, impartiremos regularmente clases y talleres, con docentes especializados en cada uno de los sectores artisticos.
We are La Terra Cognita, a burgeoning craft-based, art and artisanal centre in rural Galicia, Spain. We are situated in a village near Cortegada, Ourense.
We promote the arts and crafts of the area, expanding knowledge of traditional crafts which are rapidly dying out, especially processing wool for textiles and fiber arts, and ceramics. Our work revalues local materials and keeps them out of the waste steam.
Among other activities, we offer classes and workshops, bringing in teachers with a wealth of knowledge in a variety of subjects, to preserve these incredible heritage crafts.
